brutalist chess set
Hand Crafted by Jordy Virguetti
The design process started by looking at my past and present, where I drew inspiration from the monolithic structures of the Tiwanakans, an ancient Bolivian civilization, and Brutalist architecture. The idea of creating a chess set began with the fascination of creating something that was both functional, timeless, and personal.
Designed by Terra Forms for A La Pina Pop-Up Collab. In working with ALP, a modular language was created to provide multiple functions/configurations. These trays serve as a backdrop for the elegant jewelry but also can serve other functions based on users needs.
"The studio works with concrete to create objects that stand at the intersection of sculpture & architecture. "
